Individual Skid Training Course Details

Alconbury Driving Centre Skid Car

For private drivers the most important thing is avoiding a skid so they don’t end up on the wrong side of the road smashing into traffic coming the other way.

Most private drivers on the public road never skid and don’t want to skid.

WHEN A SKID HAPPENS IT CAN CAUSE A DRIVER TO PANIC AND UNLESS THE DRIVER KNOWS WHAT TO DO, THE SKID WILL RAPIDLY DEVELOP INTO A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

If you are serious about learning how to avoid skids and what to do if it all goes wrong, you will you will need several sessions in a ‘skid-car’ — we give you the chance to do that at an affordable price.

THE SKID-CAR EXPERIENCE
£120 per person, including VAT

If you book a ‘skid-car’ session you will be part of a group of three people and get three hours to learn what skidding is all about and how to deal with a skid on the road.

  • You will complete manoeuvring drives on our private circuit, to see what happens when driving hard in a normal car.
  • You could win a special prize when doing the electronic handset quizzes.
  • You will talk to experienced professional drivers.
  • You will get refreshments throughout the session.
  • You will drive the ‘skid-car’ in 10 minute sessions so you have time to make mistakes, think about what you did and drive again.
  • At the end there will be a presentation of achievement certificates and a ‘goody bag’ to take away.

THE ‘SERIOUS SIDE’ SKID-CAR
£174 per person, including VAT

This programme is designed for people who are serious about learning instinctive driving skills and there are three one hour sessions, bookable over no fewer than five weeks and no more than ten. This is an intensive programme and, although it is great fun, you are likely to walk away from each session feeling as if you have been pushed hard. We strongly recommend that you have already completed our ‘Skid Car Experience’ or some other basic training in a skid car, or you may find it too much of a challenge!

  • You will always work with the same instructor and each session includes electronic handset quizzes, and ‘skid-car’ driving in 10 minute sessions, so you have time to think about what you have done and then try again.
  • Tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided.
  • At the end of your third session you will receive an achievement certificate and a ‘goody bag’ to take away.
  • If you wish you can become a (free) member of our Driving Club and we will tell you about future events we are holding at the Alconbury Driving Centre.
