Individual Schools Programme
This scheme has already been running successfully for several years, with up to 80 young people attending each week for a two-hour session of practical and classroom study.
The programme, which runs for an academic year, has seen pupils from many Cambridgeshire schools learn about motor vehicle history, motoring maths, first aid, car safety checks and the Highway Code. They spend at least an hour a week on practical issues, including driving skills in dual-control cars on the Centre’s driving circuit.
Students are reported to have benefited not only from the direct skills taught, but also in terms of personal development and self-esteem.
